Washer-dryer will not start; door symbol flashes and cycle will not begin

Safety first: Unplug the washer-dryer combo from the mains before any work. Do not bypass the door lock for testing while connected to power.

• Step 1 – Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure no clothing is trapped between the door seal and the door glass. The door should click positively when closed.
• Step 2 – Inspect door latch hook: Examine the metal or plastic latch on the door. If it is loose, cracked, or bent, it may not engage the interlock. Replace the door latch hook if damaged.
• Step 3 – Test door interlock: Remove the front retaining band from the door seal and gently pull the seal back to access the door lock assembly. Disconnect power, remove the screws holding the lock, and inspect the connector for burnt pins or loose wires. If you have a multimeter, test continuity across the lock terminals when the door is closed (refer to a Beko service manual for pinout). Replace the door lock assembly if it fails continuity or shows signs of heat damage.
• Step 4 – Check wiring harness: Trace the wiring from the door lock to the main PCB. Look for pinched, broken, or corroded wires and reseat the connectors firmly.
• Step 5 – Reset the machine: After reassembly, plug the unit back in and try a short cycle. If E01 persists despite a known-good lock and wiring, the main control board may be faulty and should be diagnosed or replaced by a qualified technician.
