Possible Causes
Loose or damaged tachometer sensor on motor, Broken tachometer magnet, Wiring fault between tachometer and PCB, Faulty main control board speed sensing circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before accessing the motor or wiring.
- Step 1 – Check load and balance: Ensure the drum is not overloaded or underloaded. Very small or very heavy loads can prevent spin. Redistribute laundry and retry.
- Step 2 – Inspect tachometer: Remove the rear panel and locate the tachometer at the back of the motor (usually a small round sensor). Ensure it is firmly attached and not cracked. Check that the magnet on the motor shaft is intact.
- Step 3 – Test tachometer resistance: Disconnect the tachometer connector and measure resistance with a multimeter. Compare with Beko specifications. An open circuit or erratic reading indicates a faulty tachometer.
- Step 4 – Check wiring harness: Trace the tachometer wires back to the PCB. Look for chafed insulation, broken conductors, or loose plugs. Repair or replace as needed.
- Step 5 – PCB evaluation: If the tachometer and wiring are sound, the PCB may not be processing speed feedback correctly. This requires professional diagnosis and likely PCB replacement.
