Possible Causes
Shorted drain pump, Shorted triac on PCB, Wiring short between pump and PCB, Water ingress on pump connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and ensure the area around the pump is dry before working.
- Step 1 – Inspect pump and connector: Access the drain pump from the bottom or front. Check for signs of water leakage onto the connector or PCB area. Dry thoroughly and correct any leaks.
- Step 2 – Test pump coil: Disconnect the pump and measure resistance across its terminals. Compare with Beko specifications. A very low resistance or short to earth indicates a faulty pump that must be replaced.
- Step 3 – Check wiring: Inspect the harness for melted insulation or shorts to chassis. Repair or replace as necessary.
- Step 4 – PCB triac: If a new pump still triggers E23, the pump triac on the PCB may be damaged and stuck on or off. PCB repair or replacement is required and should be done by a professional.
