How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before attempting to remove foreign objects.
- Step 1 – Inspect drum interior: Run your hand carefully around the inside of the drum and along the drum paddles. Look for protruding wires or sharp objects in the drum holes.
- Step 2 – Check drum paddles: Ensure plastic lifters are secure. If one is loose, remove it (usually by sliding or releasing clips) and inspect underneath for trapped objects.
- Step 3 – Access via heater or sump: If the object is not reachable from inside, remove the rear panel and take out the heater or disconnect the sump hose to access the gap between drum and tub. Use a flexible grab tool to remove the object.
- Step 4 – Test rotation: After removal, rotate the drum by hand to confirm the scraping noise is gone before reassembling.
