Washer-dryer will not start a cycle and may display a key/lock symbol; door will not lock when Start is pressed.

Safety first: Unplug the Belling washer-dryer combo from the mains before removing any panels. Do not bypass the door lock for testing with the machine powered.

• Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and the latch engages firmly. Inspect the metal/plastic door hook for cracks or bending. If damaged, it must be replaced.
• Power reset: Disconnect power for 5 minutes, then reconnect and try a short cycle. Sometimes the control PCB will clear a transient door lock error.
• Inspect door interlock: Remove the front door seal clamp and gently pull back the seal to access the door interlock on the Belling front panel. Check the wiring connector for burning, looseness, or corrosion. Reseat the plug firmly.
• Test the interlock: With power disconnected, remove the door lock and test its terminals with a multimeter for continuity when the lock is engaged (refer to Belling wiring diagram for pinout). If open circuit or intermittent, replace the door interlock assembly.
• Check harness to PCB: Trace the harness from the door lock to the main control PCB at the rear/top. Look for pinched, broken, or burnt wires. Repair or replace the harness if damaged.
• If still faulty: If the door lock and wiring are sound, the main control PCB relay or triac that drives the lock may have failed. Replacement of the PCB is recommended and is best done by a qualified technician.
