Possible Causes

Blocked inlet filter, Faulty water inlet valve, Low mains water pressure, Defective water level pressure switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off the mains power and close the water supply tap before working on the appliance.

  • Check water supply: Ensure the household tap feeding the Belling washer-dryer is fully open and that other taps in the house have normal pressure.
  • Clean inlet filters: Turn off the water tap, disconnect the inlet hose from the rear of the machine, and remove the small mesh filter inside the valve. Rinse under running water to remove grit and limescale, then refit.
  • Inspect inlet hose: Check for kinks, crushing, or freezing (in cold environments). Straighten or replace the hose if restricted.
  • Test inlet valve: With power disconnected, access the top/rear of the machine to reach the Belling water inlet valve. Check the coil resistance with a multimeter (typically 2–5 kΩ; refer to service data). If open circuit or shorted, replace the valve.
  • Check pressure switch hose: Inspect the small rubber hose from the tub/air chamber to the water level pressure switch for blockages or splits. Clear any soap residue and ensure it is firmly attached.
  • Control fault: If the valve and pressure system are OK but the valve never receives power during fill, the main control PCB may be defective and require replacement by a technician.
