Possible Causes
Blocked drain pump filter, Obstructed drain hose, Faulty drain pump motor, Blocked sump hose from tub to pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and prepare towels or a shallow tray to catch water before opening any filters.
- Clean pump filter: Locate the pump filter flap at the lower front of the Belling washer-dryer. Place a tray underneath, slowly unscrew the filter cap, and allow water to drain. Remove debris such as coins, hair, or lint from the filter and pump impeller area.
- Check pump impeller: With the filter removed and power off, reach in and gently turn the impeller. It should rotate freely with slight resistance. If jammed or loose on the shaft, the pump should be replaced.
- Inspect drain hose: Check the rear drain hose for kinks, crushing, or blockage at the standpipe/sink connection. Flush the hose with water if necessary.
- Check sump hose: Access the underside/front of the tub and inspect the large black sump hose leading to the pump. Remove the clamp and check for socks or other obstructions. Refit securely.
- Electrical test: With power disconnected, test the pump motor coil resistance (typically 150–300 Ω). If open or shorted, replace the Belling drain pump assembly.
- Persistent E03: If the pump runs but water does not leave the drum, there may be a blockage in the household waste pipe or an issue with the control PCB not powering the pump correctly. Consider technician service.
