Possible Causes

Shorted motor windings, Shorted motor triac on PCB, Damaged motor harness, Overloaded drum causing motor stall

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the machine before any internal inspection.

  • Reduce load: Remove some items and try a spin-only cycle. Overloading can trigger motor protection and error codes.
  • Inspect motor and belt: Remove the rear panel and check that the drive belt is intact and correctly tensioned on the motor pulley and drum pulley. Replace if broken or badly worn.
  • Check harness: Examine the wiring from the motor to the main PCB for chafing against the drum or cabinet. Repair or replace damaged sections.
  • Test motor windings: With power off, measure resistance of the motor windings according to the Belling service manual. If windings are shorted or significantly out of spec, replace the motor.
  • PCB triac/driver: If the motor and wiring are sound but the motor never receives drive voltage, the PCB motor triac or driver IC may have failed. This is a complex repair; replacement of the PCB is recommended via a qualified engineer.
