Possible Causes

Severely unbalanced laundry load, Worn suspension dampers, Faulty drum balance sensor (if fitted), Loose concrete counterweight

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Keep the machine unplugged while inspecting internal components.

  • Redistribute load: Open the door (once unlocked) and redistribute laundry evenly around the drum. Avoid washing single heavy items (e.g. one bath mat) alone; add a few smaller items and retry spin.
  • Check installation: Ensure the Belling washer-dryer is level front-to-back and side-to-side using a spirit level. Adjust the feet and lock nuts to stabilise the cabinet.
  • Inspect dampers: Remove the rear or front lower panel to view the suspension dampers. Push down on the drum; it should rebound smoothly without excessive bouncing. If the drum oscillates or dampers are oily/leaking, replace the suspension dampers.
  • Check counterweights: Inspect the concrete or cast-iron weights bolted to the tub. Tighten any loose bolts and check for cracks in the weights.
  • Sensor/PCB: If mechanical components are sound but E08 persists with light loads, the balance detection circuit or sensor on the PCB may be faulty. Professional diagnosis is advised.
