Possible Causes
Failed dryer heating element, Open thermal cut-out (TCO), Faulty dryer thermostat, Loose or burnt heater wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool fully before accessing the dryer section.
- Confirm symptom: Run a drying cycle and check if any heat is produced (carefully feel the door glass after several minutes). If completely cold, suspect heater circuit.
- Access dryer heater: On many Belling washer-dryer combos, the dryer heater is located at the rear or top duct. Remove the top and/or rear panel to locate the heater housing.
- Check thermostats/TCO: Identify the thermal cut-out and thermostats mounted on the heater duct. With power off, test each for continuity. Replace any that are open circuit.
- Test dryer element: Disconnect the heater terminals and measure resistance (typically 20–40 Ω). If open circuit, replace the dryer heater element assembly.
- Inspect wiring: Look for heat-damaged connectors or loose spades. Clean and tighten or replace as needed.
- Control fault: If heater and stats are good but no power is supplied during drying, the PCB dryer relay may be faulty. PCB replacement is recommended via a technician.
