Possible Causes

Leaking door seal, Split drain hose, Loose tub-to-pump hose, Faulty anti-flood float switch in base

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply. Be prepared for water spillage when moving the machine.

  • Check for visible leaks: Inspect around the door, front panel, and underneath the Belling washer-dryer for signs of water.
  • Empty base tray: Carefully pull the machine forward and tilt it slightly backward to see if water drains from the base. If water flows out, the anti-flood float switch has likely been activated.
  • Inspect hoses: Remove the rear and lower front panels to inspect the drain hose, tub-to-pump hose, and inlet hoses for splits, loose clamps, or drips during a fill/drain test (power on briefly with caution).
  • Door seal: Examine the door gasket for tears, holes, or mould build-up preventing a good seal. Replace the door seal if damaged.
  • Float switch: Locate the float and micro-switch in the base tray. Ensure the float moves freely and the switch is not stuck. Dry the base thoroughly and reset the float.
  • After repair: Once the leak source is fixed and the base is dry, reconnect power and test a short cycle while monitoring for further leaks.
