Possible Causes
Faulty flow meter (if fitted), Blocked inlet valve screen, Wiring fault between flow sensor and PCB, Control PCB sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and water supply before working on the inlet system.
- Clean inlet filters: Remove and clean the mesh filters in the Belling inlet valve as described for E02.
- Locate flow meter: Some Belling washer-dryers incorporate a flow sensor in the inlet valve or a separate housing. Access it from the top/rear and inspect for debris.
- Check wiring: Ensure the small harness from the flow meter to the PCB is intact and firmly connected at both ends.
- Test sensor: With a multimeter, check for pulses or resistance changes from the flow meter while gently blowing water/air through (refer to service data). Replace the flow meter if non-functional.
- PCB fault: If the sensor is good but E17 persists, the PCB input circuit may be defective and require replacement.
