Possible Causes
Defective door interlock switch, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Wiring issue between door lock and main control board, Faulty main control board (PCB)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Blomberg washer-dryer combo from the mains and turn off the water supply before any disassembly.
- Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Make sure no clothing is trapped between the door seal and the door glass. The latch hook must fully engage the door lock.
- Inspect door latch hook: Examine the metal or plastic latch on the door for bending, cracks, or looseness. Tighten mounting screws if loose. Replace the latch if damaged.
- Test door lock operation: With power off, remove the front retaining band of the door gasket and gently pull back the gasket to access the door lock assembly. Check the wiring connector for burning, corrosion, or loose pins. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Electrical test (for qualified persons): Using a multimeter, test continuity across the door lock terminals when the door is closed. If the lock coil is open or the switch does not change state, the door lock assembly must be replaced.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the gasket and retaining band, restore power, and try a short wash cycle. If E01 persists after replacing the lock, the main control board may be faulty and should be diagnosed by a professional technician.
