Possible Causes

Blocked drain pump filter, Clogged drain hose or standpipe, Foreign object in drain pump impeller, Failed drain pump motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer-dryer and keep towels or a shallow tray ready for water spillage.

  • Access pump filter: Open the lower service flap on the front of the Blomberg combo. Place a tray or towels under the filter cap.
  • Drain residual water: If equipped with an emergency drain hose, pull it out and drain into a container. Then slowly unscrew the pump filter cap to release remaining water.
  • Clean filter and pump: Remove lint, coins, buttons, and other debris from the filter and pump cavity. Reach in carefully and check that the impeller spins freely and is not obstructed.
  • Check drain hose: Inspect the rear drain hose for kinks or clogs. Detach from the standpipe or sink trap and flush with water to ensure it is clear.
  • Test pump (qualified persons): With the machine unplugged, access the pump from the rear or bottom (depending on model). Check wiring connections. Use a multimeter to test pump coil resistance. If open, or if the pump hums but does not turn during operation, replace the drain pump.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the filter cap securely, close the flap, reconnect hoses, and run a drain/spin cycle. Persistent E03 after cleaning usually indicates a failing pump or control board issue requiring professional service.
