Possible Causes
Blocked pressure chamber or pressure hose, Faulty pressure switch (water level sensor), Stuck-open water inlet valve, Control board water level circuit failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance immediately if it is overfilling. Turn off the water supply taps.
- Check water inlet valve: With the machine unplugged and taps closed, observe if water still enters the drum. If water continues to flow, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
- Inspect pressure hose: Remove the top cover. Locate the small rubber or plastic pressure hose running from the bottom side of the tub/air chamber to the pressure switch on the side or top frame. Check for kinks, cracks, or blockages (soap scum, lint). Detach and blow through the hose to ensure it is clear.
- Clean pressure chamber: At the tub end, the pressure chamber can clog with detergent residue. Carefully remove and rinse it under hot water to restore proper air flow.
- Test pressure switch (qualified persons): With a multimeter, check continuity changes on the pressure switch terminals while gently blowing into the pressure port. If the switch does not click or change state, replace the pressure switch.
- Final test: Reassemble, restore water and power, and run a quick wash. If E04 returns after replacing the pressure components and valve, the main control board may be misreading the level and should be checked by a technician.
