Possible Causes
Failed tub heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose or burnt heater wiring, Defective main control board relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Blomberg combo and allow the machine to cool before working near the heater.
- Access heater terminals: On most Blomberg washer-dryer combos, the wash heater is mounted at the rear of the tub and accessed from the back panel. Remove the rear cover to expose the heater terminals and NTC sensor.
- Inspect wiring: Check for burnt connectors, loose spade terminals, or damaged insulation. Repair or replace any overheated wiring harness sections.
- Test heating element: Disconnect the heater wires and measure resistance across the heater terminals with a multimeter. Typical values are 20–30 Ω. If open or shorted to ground, replace the heater element.
- Test NTC sensor: Measure resistance of the NTC at room temperature (usually 4–20 kΩ depending on type). If reading is out of specification or does not change when warmed, replace the NTC sensor.
- Reassemble and test: Reconnect all wiring, refit the rear panel, and run a 60 °C wash. If E05 persists and the heater and NTC are good, the control board heater relay may be faulty and should be serviced by a professional.
