Possible Causes
Worn carbon brushes on universal motor (if fitted), Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Open or shorted motor windings, Defective motor control circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing the motor or belt. Beware of sharp edges.
- Check drum movement: Rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly without grinding or binding. If seized, investigate bearings or foreign objects before motor work.
- Inspect drive belt: Remove the rear panel and verify the belt is correctly seated on the motor pulley and drum pulley. Replace if broken or badly worn.
- Check motor brushes (if applicable): On Blomberg models with a brushed universal motor, remove the motor and inspect the carbon brushes. If they are shorter than about 1 cm or unevenly worn, replace both brushes with the correct Blomberg-compatible set.
- Test tachometer and windings (qualified persons): Measure resistance of the tachometer coil at the rear of the motor (typically 100–200 Ω). Also check main windings for continuity. Replace the motor if readings are out of range.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the motor and belt, secure all connectors, and run a spin cycle. If E06 remains and the motor assembly is known good, the main control board's motor drive circuit may be defective and requires professional repair.
