Possible Causes

Blocked dryer air duct, Failed dryer fan motor, Loose or damaged fan wiring harness, Obstructed blower wheel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before working on the dryer system.

  • Clean lint and ducts: Remove the top cover and rear panel as needed to access the dryer air path. Vacuum lint from the internal lint filter housing, air channels, and around the blower wheel. Ensure external venting (if vented model) is not blocked.
  • Inspect blower wheel: Check that the plastic blower wheel is firmly attached to the motor shaft and free of foreign objects (socks, lint clumps). Remove obstructions carefully.
  • Check fan motor wiring: Verify that the dryer fan motor connector is fully seated and that wires are not burnt or pinched.
  • Test fan motor (qualified persons): Measure resistance of the fan motor windings. If open or shorted, replace the dryer fan motor assembly.
  • Reassemble and test: After cleaning and any part replacement, run a drying-only cycle. If E08 persists, the main control board may not be powering the fan correctly and should be checked by a professional.
