Possible Causes

Door lock mechanism jammed, Faulty door lock solenoid, Broken door handle or latch, Control board not sending unlock signal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Do not force the door open with tools, as this can damage the cabinet and glass.

  • Wait and power reset: Allow 2–5 minutes after the cycle ends for the lock to cool and release. Try unplugging the machine for 1 minute, then reconnecting and attempting to open the door.
  • Manual release: Many Blomberg combos have a manual door lock release accessible through the pump filter flap or behind the front panel. Look for a colored pull tab or lever near the lock and gently pull to release the door.
  • Inspect door handle and latch: Once open, check the handle and latch hook for cracks or looseness. Replace if damaged.
  • Check door lock assembly: Access the lock from behind the front panel or by pulling back the door gasket. Inspect for signs of overheating or mechanical damage. Replace the door lock assembly if it intermittently fails to unlock.
  • Control issue: If a new lock does not resolve E11, the main control board may not be de-energizing the lock coil properly and should be checked by a professional.
