Possible Causes
Dirty or coated moisture sensor bars, Blocked lint filter or air ducts, Faulty moisture sensor wiring, Defective moisture sensing circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before cleaning internal sensors.
- Clean moisture sensors: Inside the drum, locate the two metal strips (moisture sensor bars) usually near the door opening. Clean them thoroughly with a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth to remove detergent film and fabric softener residue.
- Clean lint and ducts: Remove and clean any internal lint filters. Vacuum lint from accessible ducts and around the blower area.
- Check wiring: From inside or behind the front panel, trace the moisture sensor wires to the control board. Ensure connectors are secure and wires undamaged.
- Test operation: Run a timed dry cycle with a small load to verify heating and airflow. If E20 persists and drying remains poor, the moisture sensing circuit on the PCB may be faulty and require professional service.
