Possible Causes
Clogged drain pump filter, Blocked drain hose or standpipe, Defective drain pump motor, Wiring issue between drain pump and main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and be prepared for water spillage when opening the filter. Keep towels and a shallow tray ready.
- Clean the drain filter: Locate the service flap at the bottom front of the Brandt combo. Open it, place a tray underneath, and slowly unscrew the drain filter cap. Remove lint, coins, buttons, and debris. Rinse the filter under running water and reinstall it securely.
- Check the drain hose: Inspect the rear drain hose for kinks, crushing, or freezing. Detach it from the standpipe or sink connection and check for blockages. Flush with water to clear any obstruction.
- Test a drain-only cycle: Reconnect everything, plug the unit back in, and run a drain or spin-only program. Listen for the pump running. If the pump hums but does not evacuate water, it may be jammed or failing.
- Inspect pump and wiring: With power off, remove the rear or bottom panel (depending on model) to access the drain pump. Check for foreign objects in the pump impeller. Spin the impeller by hand; if seized or loose on the shaft, replace the drain pump. Verify the wiring connector is tight and not burnt.
- Control board diagnosis: If the pump and wiring are good but D02 persists, the main control board’s pump driver circuit may be defective. Board replacement is typically required.
