Possible Causes
Faulty control panel PCB, Stuck or damaged buttons, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Moisture ingress into control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel.
- Check for stuck buttons: Press each button individually and ensure it returns freely. If any button feels stuck, gently clean around it with a soft cloth. Avoid liquid cleaners that can seep inside.
- Power cycle: Disconnect power for several minutes, then reconnect and test. This can clear minor software glitches.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the top panel and then the control panel fascia. Check the ribbon cable connection between the user interface board and the main control board. Reseat both ends.
- Look for moisture or corrosion: If there are signs of water ingress or corrosion on the UI board, it will likely need replacement. Identify and correct any source of leaks from the dispenser or top cover.
- Replace UI board if needed: If D12 persists and wiring is good, replace the control panel PCB according to Brandt part specifications.
