Possible Causes
Defective dryer NTC sensor, Loose or damaged NTC wiring, NTC covered with lint or not in proper contact with airflow, Faulty main control board sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow the dryer system to cool completely.
- Access dryer NTC: Remove the top and rear panels to locate the dryer air duct. The NTC is usually clipped into the duct or heater housing.
- Clean around sensor: Remove lint and dust from the NTC and surrounding duct to ensure accurate temperature sensing.
- Check connections: Verify the NTC connector is secure and free of corrosion. Reseat it.
- Test NTC: Measure resistance at room temperature and compare with Brandt specifications. Replace the dryer NTC if readings are incorrect.
- Inspect wiring and board: If the NTC is good, check the harness to the main control board. Persistent D14 with good wiring suggests a faulty control board.
