Possible Causes
Blocked condenser or lint filter, Obstructed dryer air duct, Failed or open safety thermostat, Faulty dryer fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Components may be hot; wait until fully cooled.
- Clean lint and condenser: Remove and clean the lint filter. If your Brandt combo has a removable condenser, take it out and rinse thoroughly under running water. Allow to dry and reinstall.
- Inspect air ducts: Remove top and rear panels and check dryer air ducts for lint buildup. Clean thoroughly to restore airflow.
- Check dryer fan: Locate the dryer fan motor and impeller. Ensure the fan spins freely and is not obstructed. Replace the fan motor if seized or not running during drying.
- Test safety thermostat: Using a multimeter, check continuity across the safety thermostat(s) on the heater housing or duct. Replace any open thermostat. Investigate and correct airflow issues before replacing to avoid repeat failure.
