Possible Causes
Defective motor tachometer sensor, Loose tachometer magnet on motor shaft, Damaged wiring from tachometer to control board, Faulty motor control circuit on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Do not run the machine with panels removed.
- Access motor: Remove the rear panel to reach the drum motor. Locate the tachometer sensor at the rear of the motor (often a small coil or sensor module).
- Check tachometer connection: Ensure the tachometer connector is firmly attached and wires are intact.
- Inspect tachometer magnet: Verify that the magnet or ring on the motor shaft is secure and not cracked or missing. If damaged, replace the motor assembly.
- Test tachometer: Measure resistance across the tachometer coil. An open circuit indicates failure; replace the motor or tachometer assembly as designed by Brandt.
- Control board check: If tachometer and wiring are good, the motor control circuit on the main board may be defective and require replacement.
