Possible Causes
Drain hose inserted too far into standpipe, Standpipe too low causing siphoning, Partial clog in household drain, Kinked or crushed drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before moving or adjusting hoses.
Steps:
- Check drain hose height: Verify the drain hose is installed at the height specified in your Café installation manual (typically 30–96 inches above the floor). If too low, raise it.
- Correct hose insertion: Ensure the hose is not sealed airtight into the standpipe. There should be an air gap around the hose to prevent siphoning.
- Inspect for kinks: Pull the unit forward and straighten any sharp bends or kinks in the drain hose.
- Test drain: Run a drain/spin cycle and observe the discharge. If water backs up or drains slowly, the household plumbing may be restricted.
When to call a technician or plumber: If installation and hose routing are correct but code 10 persists, have a technician check the internal drain system and a plumber inspect the home drain line.
