Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the outlet or breaker before accessing internal components.
Basic checks:
- Verify load: Remove heavy items and check if the drum can be turned by hand. It should rotate smoothly without grinding.
- Power reset: Unplug the unit for 5 minutes to reset the control board, then reconnect and try a rinse/spin cycle.
Internal inspection (advanced users):
- Remove the rear access panel to inspect the drive belt on the Café combo drum pulley and motor pulley. If the belt is off, frayed, or broken, replace it.
- Check the motor wiring harness for loose connectors or damaged wires. Reseat all plugs at the motor and at the motor inverter (if separate from the main board).
- If the motor hums but does not turn, or if the code reappears immediately, the drive motor or motor inverter board may be defective.
When to call a technician: Motor and inverter diagnostics require electrical testing under load. If the belt is intact and wiring looks good, schedule service with a Café-authorized technician.
