Possible Causes
Torn or worn door gasket, Debris trapped on door seal, Loose door clamp, Excessive suds from non-HE detergent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and turn off water supply before inspecting for leaks.
Steps:
- Inspect door gasket: Open the door and carefully examine the entire circumference of the rubber door boot gasket for tears, holes, or deformation.
- Clean gasket: Wipe away lint, coins, hairpins, and detergent residue from the folds of the gasket. Pay special attention to the bottom area where water collects.
- Check clamps: Gently pull back the gasket edge and verify the inner and outer retaining clamps are secure. Tighten if loose.
- Use HE detergent: Ensure you are using high-efficiency (HE) detergent in the correct amount. Excess suds can cause water to push past the door seal.
When to call a technician: If the gasket is torn or deformed, it should be replaced to prevent ongoing leaks.
