Possible Causes

Failed heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Wiring fault between heater and PCB, Defective main control board heater relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Heating components operate at mains voltage and are exposed when panels are removed.

Step-by-step checks:

  • Access the heater: Remove the rear panel. At the bottom of the tub you will see the heater flange with two power terminals and an earth connection.
  • Test the heater element: Disconnect the wires and measure resistance across the heater terminals. Typical values are 20–30 Ω. An open circuit or a direct short to earth indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
  • Check the NTC sensor: Many Candy washer-dryers have an NTC sensor integrated in or near the heater. Measure its resistance at room temperature (often 20–30 kΩ). If reading is open, shorted, or does not change when warmed slightly, replace the NTC.
  • Inspect wiring: Trace the harness from the heater and NTC to the main PCB. Look for burnt connectors, loose plugs, or damaged insulation. Repair or replace as needed.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the rear panel. Run a 60°C wash and check if the door glass warms after 15–20 minutes.

When to call a technician: If heater and NTC are good but E05 persists, the main PCB heater relay or triac may be faulty and requires professional replacement.
