Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor, Loose NTC connector, Damaged wiring from NTC to PCB, Control board analog input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing the heater area.
Step-by-step checks:
- Locate the NTC: On Candy combos, the wash NTC is usually mounted in the heater flange or directly in the tub wall near the heater.
- Test the NTC: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with Candy specifications (commonly 20–30 kΩ at 20°C). If reading is very low (short) or infinite (open), replace the NTC.
- Inspect connector and wiring: Ensure the NTC plug is tight and free of corrosion. Trace the cable to the PCB and check for damage.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing or reseating the NTC, run a warm wash and confirm that the error does not reappear.
When to call a technician: If a known-good NTC still triggers E16, the PCB input circuit may be faulty and should be checked by a professional.
