Washer-dryer combo will not fill with water; cycle starts then quickly stops and displays E1.

Safety first: Unplug the Costway washer-dryer combo and turn off both hot and cold water supply valves before inspecting any parts.

• Check household water supply: Ensure both faucets feeding the machine are fully open and that there is adequate water pressure. Straighten any kinked hoses.
• Clean inlet hose screens: Disconnect the inlet hoses from the back of the washer. Inspect the small metal or plastic screens inside the water inlet ports. Rinse debris under running water and reinstall.
• Inspect water inlet valve: With power still disconnected, remove the top or rear panel (depending on model) to access the water inlet valve assembly. Check for cracked plastic bodies, burnt connectors, or loose wiring. Tighten connections.
• Test valve coils (advanced): Using a multimeter set to resistance, measure each coil on the inlet valve. Compare readings to the service manual; an open circuit (OL) indicates a bad valve that must be replaced.
• Check water level sensor hose: Locate the small rubber hose from the tub to the pressure sensor. Make sure it is not kinked, cracked, or disconnected. Re-seat it firmly.
• If E1 persists: Replace the water inlet valve assembly. If the valve is good, suspect a faulty water level (pressure) sensor or main control board and consider professional service.
