Possible Causes
Open or shorted inlet valve coil, Loose wiring to inlet valve, Faulty main control board output, Blown internal fuse on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and close water supply valves before working on the inlet valve or control board.
- Check wiring at valve: Remove the top or rear cover and inspect the harness connected to the water inlet valve. Ensure connectors are tight and not burnt.
- Test valve coils: Disconnect the wires and measure resistance across each coil. Replace the valve if any coil is open or significantly out of spec.
- Inspect PCB fuse (advanced): On some Costway boards, a small fuse protects the valve circuit. If accessible and visibly blown, identify and correct the cause (shorted valve or wiring) before replacing the fuse.
- Board output test: With extreme caution and only if you are qualified, you can test for voltage at the valve connectors during a fill command. If no voltage is present and wiring is intact, the main control board is likely faulty.
- Replace components as needed: Install a new water inlet valve assembly or main control board depending on test results.
