Possible Causes
Leaking hose or pump, Cracked tub or tub seal, Loose hose clamp, Activated float switch in base pan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply immediately if a leak is suspected.
- Access base pan: Remove the front lower panel or tilt the unit carefully (with help) to inspect the bottom pan for standing water.
- Dry the base: Use towels or a wet/dry vacuum to remove all water from the base pan. Locate the float switch and ensure it moves freely.
- Identify leak source: Run a short fill cycle while observing the internal hoses, pump, and tub. Look for drips or sprays.
- Common leak points: Tighten or replace hose clamps on the tub-to-pump hose, drain hose, and inlet hoses. Inspect the drain pump body for cracks and replace if leaking.
- Check door gasket and tub seal: Replace the door boot if water is leaking from the front. If water appears around the drive shaft area, the main tub seal may be failing and require major disassembly.
- After repair: Ensure the base pan is completely dry, then reset the machine and test for leaks again.
