Possible Causes
Stuck drain pump relay on control board, Incorrect drain hose installation causing siphon, Faulty water level sensor reporting water present
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before inspecting hoses or the control board.
- Check drain hose height: Ensure the drain hose is installed at the correct height per the manual (usually 80–120 cm above floor). A hose that is too low can cause continuous siphoning.
- Verify hose routing: Avoid airtight seals at the standpipe; allow an air gap to prevent siphon.
- Inspect water level sensor: Follow the E8 procedure to confirm the pressure hose and sensor are functioning correctly and not falsely indicating water in the tub.
- Control board relay (advanced): If the pump runs whenever the machine is powered, even with correct hose and sensor, the pump relay on the PCB may be welded closed. Board replacement is typically required.
