Washer-dryer combo displays E7 and will not start or stops mid-cycle; door may not lock properly.

Safety first: Always unplug the machine before working on the door lock assembly. Do not force the door closed with excessive pressure.

• Inspect door closure: Check that the door closes evenly and the latch engages smoothly. Remove any clothing trapped in the door seal.
• Check door strike: Examine the plastic or metal strike on the door. If cracked, bent, or loose, tighten screws or replace the strike.
• Access door lock: Remove the front panel trim or gasket clamp to reach the door lock assembly mounted on the front panel. Inspect for broken plastic, burn marks, or loose connectors.
• Test door lock (advanced): With a multimeter, check continuity across the lock terminals when the door is closed (and lock energized, per service manual). A lock that does not change state is faulty.
• Check wiring harness: Trace the harness from the door lock to the main control board. Repair any damaged wires or loose plugs.
• Replace door lock assembly: If physical damage or failed continuity is found, install a new Costway-compatible door lock assembly and reassemble the front gasket carefully to avoid leaks.
