Possible Causes
Stuck-open water inlet valve, Faulty water level sensor, Leaking tub-to-pump hose or door gasket, Control board not shutting off fill
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit immediately and turn off water supply valves if you see active leaking or overfilling.
- Inspect for visible leaks: Remove the front lower panel or rear cover and look for water trails around the tub, hoses, pump, and door gasket.
- Check door gasket: Examine the rubber door boot for tears, holes, or objects stuck in the seal. Replace the gasket if damaged.
- Inspect tub and drain hoses: Check the tub-to-pump hose and drain hose for cracks, loose clamps, or pinholes. Tighten clamps or replace hoses as needed.
- Test water inlet valve: With the machine unplugged, disconnect the inlet valve outlet hoses and inspect for debris. If the valve continues to pass water when de-energized (you may see slow filling even when off), replace the valve.
- Verify water level sensor: Follow the steps in the E8 procedure to ensure the pressure hose and sensor are functioning correctly.
- Dry and reset: After repairs, dry any water from the base pan and components. Plug in, run a short fill test, and monitor closely for leaks or overfill.
