How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel or console.
- Check for stuck buttons: Press each button on the control panel several times. If any feel stuck or do not click, the keypad may be shorted.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and inspect the flat ribbon cable connecting it to the main PCB. Ensure it is fully seated and not damaged or corroded.
- Dry moisture: If there are signs of moisture or detergent residue on the panel, gently clean and dry the area. Do not use excessive water or harsh chemicals.
- Test operation: Reconnect the panel, restore power, and see if E10 clears. If the display remains unresponsive or the code returns, the user interface board is likely defective.
- Replace UI board: Install a new Danby control panel / user interface assembly, transferring any trim pieces as needed.
