Possible Causes
Failed dryer NTC sensor, Loose or corroded NTC wiring, Shorted sensor, Sensor dislodged from mounting point
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before accessing dryer components.
- Locate dryer NTC: Access the dryer air duct or heater housing and locate the temperature sensor (NTC) clipped into the duct.
- Inspect wiring: Check the sensor connector and wiring harness for secure fit and no damage.
- Test sensor: Use a multimeter to measure resistance at room temperature and compare to Danby specifications. A reading of near 0 Ω or infinite resistance indicates a bad sensor.
- Ensure proper mounting: Make sure the sensor is properly seated in the duct so it can accurately sense air temperature.
- Replace NTC: If faulty, install a new dryer temperature sensor and reassemble the ducting.
