Possible Causes
Blocked condenser or lint filter (if accessible), Clogged internal air ducts, Faulty temperature sensor in dryer circuit, Defective moisture sensor (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool fully.
- 1. Clean accessible filters: If your De Dietrich combo has a user-accessible lint filter or condenser, remove and clean it thoroughly under running water. Dry completely before refitting.
- 2. Internal duct cleaning: Remove the top and rear panels to access the dryer air path. Vacuum lint from ducts, fan housing, and around the heater. Ensure the fan wheel spins freely.
- 3. Check dryer NTC sensor: Locate the dryer temperature sensor (often clipped to the duct). Disconnect and measure resistance; compare to service values. Replace if open, shorted, or reading abnormally.
- 4. Moisture sensor (if present): Some models use metal strips inside the drum as a moisture sensor. Clean them with a non-abrasive cleaner to remove detergent film that can prevent proper sensing.
- 5. Test run: After cleaning and reassembly, run a short drying cycle with a small load to verify improved airflow and temperature rise.
Warning: Excessive lint build-up is a fire hazard; regular cleaning is essential.
