Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and close the water tap immediately. Do not continue using the machine until the leak is found and repaired.
- 1. Check base tray: Carefully pull the machine forward and tilt it slightly backward (with assistance) to see if water drains from the base. Many De Dietrich models have a float switch in the base tray that triggers E13 when water is present.
- 2. Dry the base: Remove the rear or bottom panel (if accessible) and soak up water with towels or a sponge. Allow the area to dry completely.
- 3. Inspect hoses and clamps: Examine the sump hose from tub to pump, the drain hose, and internal recirculation hoses for splits, cracks, or loose clamps. Tighten or replace as needed.
- 4. Door seal and front tub: Check the door gasket for tears, holes, or deformation. Look for water trails down the front of the tub or cabinet. Replace the door seal if damaged.
- 5. Dispenser and inlet: Inspect the detergent drawer housing and inlet hose connections for drips during a test fill (with panels off and machine monitored). Replace cracked plastic parts or seals.
Note: After repair, run a short cycle while observing the machine for any new leaks before pushing it back into place.
