Washer-dryer displays E14 and will not start or stops unexpectedly; control panel may be unresponsive

Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or top cover.

• 1. Power reset: Unplug the appliance for at least 5 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Reconnect and see if the error clears.
• 2. Check connectors: Remove the top cover and, if necessary, the front control panel. Inspect and reseat the ribbon cable or harness between the user interface and main control board. Ensure all locking tabs are engaged.
• 3. Visual inspection: Look for signs of burning, corrosion, or moisture on both boards. If liquid has entered the control area, the affected board will likely need replacement.
• 4. Surge protection: If the error followed a power cut or surge, consider using a surge-protected outlet after repairs.
• 5. Board replacement: E14 often indicates an internal memory fault. If reseating connectors does not resolve it, the main PCB or display board must be replaced and configured with the correct De Dietrich parameters, typically by an authorized technician.

Warning: Do not attempt to reprogram EEPROMs without the correct service tools and data.
