Possible Causes
Stuck or shorted control buttons, Damaged touch panel or rotary selector, Loose or oxidized connector between UI and main board, Faulty user interface PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel.
- 1. Check for stuck buttons: Press each button individually and ensure it returns freely. If any button feels stuck or does not click, the fascia or switch may be damaged.
- 2. Clean the panel: Lightly clean around buttons with a soft cloth. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel; apply it to the cloth first to avoid liquid ingress.
- 3. Inspect UI board: Remove the control panel assembly. Check the PCB for signs of moisture, corrosion, or cracked solder joints. Dry any moisture and clean corrosion with appropriate electronics cleaner.
- 4. Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable or harness between the UI and main board. Ensure correct orientation and full insertion.
- 5. Replace UI board: If E15 persists and physical damage is evident, replace the user interface PCB or complete control panel assembly with the correct De Dietrich part.
Note: Some UI faults can mimic main board issues; if in doubt, professional diagnosis is recommended.
