Possible Causes
Stuck or faulty anti-flood float switch in base, Wiring fault between float switch and PCB, Residual water in base tray after previous leak, Control board input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and close the water tap.
- 1. Inspect base tray: Tilt the machine slightly and check if water flows from the base. If so, dry the base thoroughly and locate the source of the leak before further use.
- 2. Check float switch: Access the base (rear or bottom panel removal). Locate the float and microswitch assembly. Ensure the float moves freely and is not stuck by debris or scale.
- 3. Test switch: Disconnect the float switch connector and test continuity while manually raising and lowering the float. Replace the switch if readings are inconsistent.
- 4. Wiring and PCB: Inspect the harness from the float switch to the control board. Repair any damaged wires. If the switch and wiring are good but E17 persists, the PCB input circuit may be faulty.
Note: E17 often indicates an underlying leak; resolving the leak is as important as fixing the sensor.
