Possible Causes

Seized or obstructed dryer fan, Failed fan motor, Loose fan wiring connector, Control board not driving fan

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool.

  • 1. Access the fan: Remove the top and rear panels to locate the dryer fan housing, usually connected to the heater duct.
  • 2. Check for obstructions: Inspect the fan wheel for lint build-up, foreign objects, or damage. Clean thoroughly and ensure it spins freely by hand.
  • 3. Test fan motor: Disconnect the fan motor connector and measure coil resistance. Compare with service specifications. An open circuit or burnt smell indicates a failed motor.
  • 4. Wiring and control: Inspect the wiring harness to the fan. If the motor is good but does not run when a drying cycle starts (tested only by qualified personnel), the control board output may be faulty.

Note: A non-functioning fan can cause overheating and trigger other dryer errors; do not use the dryer until the fan fault is resolved.
