Possible Causes
Torn or punctured door gasket, Gasket pulled away from tub or front panel, Foreign object trapped under seal lip, Loose retaining clamp
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and mop up any standing water to avoid slipping.
- 1. Inspect the seal: Open the door and carefully examine the entire circumference of the rubber bellows. Look for cuts, holes, or areas where it has come away from the tub or front panel.
- 2. Remove foreign objects: Check under the inner lip for coins, bra wires, or other sharp items. Remove them to prevent further damage.
- 3. Check clamps: The seal is held by inner and outer clamps (wire or spring bands). If a clamp has come loose, refit it securely in the groove. Replace damaged clamps.
- 4. Replace seal if damaged: If the gasket is torn or heavily worn, remove the front panel (if required), release both clamps, and fit a new De Dietrich door seal, ensuring correct orientation and full seating before refitting clamps.
Note: After replacement, run a short rinse cycle to confirm no leaks before regular use.
