How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before accessing internal components.
- 1. Identify noise location: Slowly rotate the drum by hand and listen for the point of contact. Note the approximate position.
- 2. Inspect through heater hole: Remove the rear panel and then the tub heater (after disconnecting wires). Use a torch to look inside the tub around the drum for foreign objects. Remove with long-nose pliers.
- 3. Sump hose access: Alternatively, remove the sump hose from the bottom of the tub and inspect for trapped items.
- 4. Refit heater carefully: Ensure the heater seal is correctly seated to prevent leaks when reinstalling.
Note: Do not ignore scraping noises; they can damage the drum and tub over time.
