Possible Causes
Clogged drain pump filter, Obstructed drain pump impeller, Blocked or kinked drain hose, Faulty Electrolux drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Water may spill when opening the pump filter—have towels and a shallow pan ready.
- 1. Locate and open pump filter: On many Electrolux combos, the pump filter is behind a small lower front access door. Open it, place a tray underneath, and slowly unscrew the filter cap to let water drain.
- 2. Clean the filter: Remove lint, coins, buttons, and other debris from the filter and pump cavity. Check that the impeller spins freely.
- 3. Inspect drain hose: Check the external drain hose for kinks or clogs. Ensure the standpipe or sink connection is not blocked.
- 4. Reassemble and test: Refit the filter securely, restore power, and run a drain/spin cycle to verify proper drainage.
If the pump hums but does not move water, or is silent and receives power, the drain pump assembly may need replacement.
