Possible Causes
Shorted motor windings, Shorted triac on main control board, Damaged motor harness, Overheated control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before any electrical testing.
- 1. Inspect motor and harness: Look for burn marks or melted insulation at the motor connector and along the harness.
- 2. Test motor windings: Use a multimeter to check resistance between motor terminals and to ground. Replace the motor if windings are shorted.
Because E51 usually indicates a failed triac on the control board, the main control board often must be replaced after verifying the motor is not shorted.
