Possible Causes

Stuck door lock mechanism on Equator combo, Faulty door lock solenoid, Control board not sending unlock signal, Broken door handle or latch mechanism

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power. Do not force the door open with excessive strength as this can damage the door and lock.

  • Wait for cool-down: If the unit has just finished a high-temperature wash or dry, wait 2–5 minutes for the lock to cool and attempt to open again.
  • Manual release: Many Equator combos have a manual door lock release accessible behind the lower front panel or through the door gasket. Consult your user manual and gently pull the release tab to open the door.
  • Inspect lock: Once open and power is off, remove the door lock assembly by accessing it behind the front panel or gasket. Check for mechanical binding or broken parts.
  • Replace if necessary: If the lock is physically damaged or the solenoid coil tests open with a multimeter, replace the door lock assembly.

If the lock is functional but not receiving power to unlock, the main control board or wiring may be at fault and should be inspected by a professional.
