Possible Causes

Blocked pressure sensor air hose, Faulty water level pressure switch, Stuck-open water inlet valve, Control PCB water level circuit fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance immediately if it is overfilling. Shut off the water supply taps.

  • Step 1 – Drain excess water: Use the emergency drain (via the pump filter area) or run a drain cycle if the machine will respond. Mop up any spilled water to avoid slipping hazards.
  • Step 2 – Inspect pressure hose: Remove the top cover. Locate the water level pressure sensor (small round device with a thin rubber hose from the tub). Remove the hose and blow gently through it to clear any soap or lint blockage. Refit securely.
  • Step 3 – Check pressure sensor: Inspect the sensor for cracks or water ingress. If you have a multimeter and service data, test the switch contacts while gently blowing into the sensor.
  • Step 4 – Test inlet valves: With power disconnected, verify that the water inlet valves are not mechanically stuck open. Disconnect hoses and check that no water flows when taps are open and the machine is off. Replace the valve assembly if it leaks through.
  • Step 5 – Replace faulty components: If the hose is clear but E04 persists, replace the water level pressure sensor. If overfilling continues, replace the water inlet valve assembly. Persistent issues may indicate a control PCB fault, which should be handled by a technician.
